Experienced Security Systems Installation Technician

Amer-X Security is seeking an experienced, dependable technician to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain commercial security and low-voltage systems.
Position Overview
This position is ideal for a technician with hands-on experience in access control, intrusion alarms, video surveillance, structured cabling, networking, telecom, and related technologies. The successful candidate should be able to work independently, solve problems in the field, and communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
Responsibilities
Install, program, test, troubleshoot, and service commercial security systems.
Install and service access control systems, including DSX equipment.
Install and troubleshoot Bosch intrusion alarm systems.
Install IP cameras, CCTV systems, network video recorders, and related surveillance equipment.
Run, terminate, label, and test structured cabling and low-voltage wiring.
Install card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, motion detectors, control panels, and other field devices.
Perform basic networking tasks related to IP cameras, access control, and other connected equipment.
Assist with telecom, telephone systems, IT hardware, and network-related installations.
Read project documentation, wiring diagrams, floor plans, and scopes of work.
Document completed work, system changes, programming information, and job progress.
Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, project managers, and other technicians.
Maintain an organized company vehicle, tools, equipment, and assigned materials.
Follow company safety procedures and applicable codes and installation standards.
Preferred Experience
Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Commercial access control
DSX access control systems
Bosch intrusion alarms
Security alarm installation and service
IP cameras and CCTV
Video surveillance systems
Structured cabling
Low-voltage installation
Network cabling and basic networking
Telecom and telephone systems
Door hardware and electronic locking systems
System programming, troubleshooting, and field service
Experience with every product listed is not required. Applicants with strong commercial security, access control, alarm, camera, electrical, telecom, networking, or low-voltage experience are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
Previous professional experience installing or servicing security or low-voltage systems.
Ability to troubleshoot systems and work independently.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment safely.
Ability to work above ceilings, in equipment rooms, and at active commercial job sites.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Professional communication and customer-service skills.
Ability to maintain accurate job records and documentation.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to pass applicable pre-employment screening.
Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
Relevant manufacturer certifications, trade-school training, industry certifications, or applicable licenses are helpful but not required.

Pay $25 to $35 per hour depending on experience
Schedule Mainly weekdays, schedule varies depending on job, weekly on-call rotation.
